A Rant on the New RuneScape

Ok, this game was awesome like 2 and a half years ago. I played it every chance I got. I even got a membership and it was so fun with all the new things that I couldn't do when I was F2P. It slowly went downhill from there. I quit for about a year. When I came back there was a notice about an upcoming update.

It was about a few things I thought would be pretty cool, but I couldn't belive it when I read the paragrapgh about this: "For a trade to be 'balanced', the total value of the items being given must be within 3,000gp of the items being received. For example you WOULD be allowed to trade an item worth 15,000gp for an item worth 17,000gp (because the DIFFERENCE is less than 3,000gp). You will be limited to a 3,000gp gain or loss every 15 minutes."

I got really pissed when I saw this! It also makes it extemely hard to sell things because players are supposed to make the price. The price for lobsters were too low to make any money so it wasn't worth it to even fish for them.

But wait! It gets worse!

You can no longer PK in the wild! It's all just fucked up monsters now. -.-

They screwed the game big tme here. The night before I saw this, I saw about 500000 people playing, the next day, a little over 15000.

Laterr came summoning, I thought this might bring the game back, but it's shit! It's not summoning it's pouring crap out of a magical bag. One of the items you need to do it is not even tradable!

I'm just so pissed off at what they turned a great game into!

I never got a membership though
I was there when they began to add missions and skills for membership people, and for me that is the moment the bad period started
if you didn't pay it was like a lot less fun
when all my friends quitted, I quitted too
if you don't have anybody to talk to the game is rather boring

I actually hate the new trade system. The grand exchange is one massive "FUCK YOU" to the smart players who know how to trade. It's also one massive fucking failsafe for the SHIT GREEDY DUMBASS noobs who just keep getting scammed. I have scammed and BEEN scammed as many times as the other and I've learnt that the only reason you get scammed in the first place is greed. Just plain greed. It should be your own fault if you are greedy.
This hate probably comes from the expensive trading I always do. Spending half a million in gold just to buy many items for cheap (and NOT for rip-off prices either) isn't possible anymore and I'm forced to buy it at the fixed inflated price.
Five years ago coal was worth 50gp, 4 years ago it was 100gp, 3 years ago it was 150gp and now it's 180gp FIXED. Lobsters 6 years ago were 500 each and now it's just gone down hill.
Jagex (the developers) have played the hand of god and fucked the world economy. Basically everything you have to get yourself because if you buy, you'll go bankrupt.

My shopping for the coal resource came about because of my smelting of metals and going to the blacksmith to make my own armour instead of buying it. I had long ago (for many years now) wanted to make the mithril metal to pvp so each time I died, I need not spend money to re-buy a set of weapons and armour, instead make it myself. Now PvP has been removed and now the only motivation for me to finish leveling up blacksmith is just to finish the last mile, which is probably being hindered by the expensive prices of coal (i need 8000, which will take at least 30 hours NON STOP and given no one else is competing for the same resource in the same location).

On a not so legitimate point, I now can't trade the 'rare/expensive' santa hat head accessory from my illegal 'second' character to my main character because of the 3000 trade loss limit (the santa hat is worth something around 12 million lol).

Sigh....I think it's a slap in the face for most of the older players because all these changes are obviously targeted towards dumbass children who can't think for themselves and who's parents are dumb enough to let them play. At my local library, half of the computers are taken up by little fucks who play runescape and I can't get a comp to access the book database/catalogue. PLAY IT AT HOME! When we were their age, we didn't even HAVE internet and a computer game was run through DOS with 5' 1/4" floppy Disks.

I think the PvP areas have been replaced by, as chobits said, retard monsters. First time I went back into the pvp zone this, not-so-strong-looking monster appeared and killed me in two shots. I was like "WTFBBQ!" and immediately thought how shit it was as a replacement for the players that WOULD be there to attack you since players of that level (of the monster at least) CANNOT under ANY circumstances kill another similar leveled player in two shots. I have concluded, again with the base reason, that removal of the PvP was to prevent shit nub caeks from getting 'scammed' which in this context doesn't even involved ANY sort of trading. Supposedly the victim would be told to bring in their most expensive items into the PvP zone and follow a person, who would lead them into a room with a billion other higher leveled players and kill the victim, who upon death dropped everything except 3 items.
I think the new implementation would be a great idea if your over looked the INFINITE number of warning signs you are told about the pvp area during creation of your character, the (compulsory) game tutorial, the RULES you are made aware of, the POP-UP warning message that appears before you enter the pvp zone, the NPC guides AND the large emphasis of losing items upon death.
Go figure. oh and what was that saying again? NEVER TALK TO STRANGERS! naturally, if you're smart enough to ignore this, you're smart enough to make your own informed decisions.

Oh and I never payed for members despite it being $5 a month. I'd rather save up for the next box office movie.

Wow huge rant. I never checked the wilderness new monsters. I never went there much only when I wanted runes or to screw around with my friends. One reason I don't play anymore is that I have 50 people on my friends list and they're always offline now. Used to be 20 people messaging me at once. I used to be able to sell 108 lobsters at 28k. As soon as I walked in the bank selling I got people almost inmediatly. Now I'm lucky to even sell them for anything. The amount of time it takes to fish them is not worth the money you get.

Another thing I hate is that sharks were always 1k each. When I got the level to fish them the price dropped to like 750. I thought that Jagex said they would never interfere with the prices and would leave it to the players to decide. What happened to that ideal? RuneScape now has a socialist economy becuase you can only sell items within a few K of what price Jagex decides an item's price is.

I thought summoning would fix it and the game might be alright again but then when I did the quest to summon 1 fucking thing it took so many things to do it and one of the items is untradable. I thought the skill was summoning? More like pour shit out of a bag. -.-

You get bored as fuck when you're revising for University exams with a trillion formulas to memorise, chemical properties of materials, heat conductivity, millions of drawing standards, maths equations, etc etc etc etc......

It used to be very hackable.
Also, the flash game Adventure Quest is 100% hackable as well. I turned on god mode on my character and gave myself infinite mp. (and later changed how much gold i received after a fight). LOL
