Japanese company, Sega Toys, has produced a 38 cm tall robotic girlfriend for lonely adult men.
EMA, or Eternal Maiden Actualisation, uses infrared sensors and battery power to sense nearby human heads, so that she can enter 'love mode'. In this mode, she can kiss on command and puckers up for anyone nearby.
"Strong, tough and battle-ready are some of the words often associated with robots, but we wanted to break that stereotype and provide a robot that's sweet and interactive," said Minako Sakanoue, a spokeswoman for the maker, Sega Toys.
"She's very lovable and though she's not a human, she can act like a real girlfriend."

EMA runs on batteries and can also hand out business cards, sing and dance. The robot is expected to go on sale in September and will retail for approximately $175.

A female motorist was lucky to survive an incident when she was terrorised by a BMW driver on a Melbourne freeway, police said.
Police said the 30-year-old woman lost control of her silver Toyota Corolla and hit a steel barrier on the left side of the West Gate freeway at Grieve Parade in last night's road rage incident.
She suffered minor head injuries, but police spokeswoman Snr Const Sharon Darcy said the outcome could have been much worse.
"Police are lucky not to be investigating a fatal accident after a woman was terrorised on the West Gate Freeway around 7.15pm yesterday ...," Snr Const Darcy said.
The drama started on the West Gate Bridge outbound, shortly after the woman changed lanes.
A blue BMW behind her sped up and tailgated the women's vehicle, then overtook, moved in front of her and braked heavily, police said.
The woman had to brake sharply to avoid hitting the car, but the other driver kept repeating the action.
When the woman tried to change lanes and get away, the BMW also moved lanes and braked heavily again.
Just before Grieve Parade, the BMW veered at the woman's car in an apparent bid to force it into a concrete barrier in the emergency lane in the centre of the road.
She braked hard to avoid hitting the barrier and lost control of her car, which went into a spin across all four lanes and hit the steel barrier.
The other car did not stop.
Police said the car they are looking for is described as a navy blue BMW hatchback about three to four years old.
